The ability to connect is one of the most impactful experiences as a human being. Every encounter has the capacity to forever change us…for better or worse. It becomes imperative to handle people with care because you might be the energetic force that sends them over the edge, the one who inspires them to come alive, or a reminder of how much growth and healing they achieved. In some cases, it’s all of the above.
Life offers many opportunities to connect with other human beings. At our core, we are social beings who thrive on the ability to connect to something outside of ourselves. Even the most dark and devastating experiences occur as derivatives of the inability to connect with others. Addiction, suicide, death, poverty, grief, depression, hatred in all its dimensions, or any other form of trauma disconnects us from ourselves. That is where the damage reaches catastrophic proportions. We fixate on the external damage; the most visible aspect of harm or trauma. This process is insidious to such a degree we fail to recognize the accumulation of the darkness within ourselves. Without tending to those internal forces…the trauma will continue to fester; like weeds that grow back in the garden because you failed to dissect the root.
I had my fair share of heartache and pain in this life…things that I will spend the rest of my life healing from. But, that is ok. I no longer feel resentment or bitterness towards that reality of my life. Those experiences broke me wide open and sent me down a path of creating a life of exceptional beauty and splendor. My ability to make genuine yet profound connections with people is where my superpower resides. My intensity and deep desire to connect with others is not because I am overcompensating for what I lacked in my early years (maybe it was at one point). It’s because that force of human energy is what keeps the world moving forward.
It’s the force that reinvigorates us when we are faced with insurmountable circumstances. It’s the force that has given way to some of the biggest contributions to humanity. Poets, authors, dreamers, change-makers, artists, educators, scholars, activists…human beings like you and me who decided to use their pain and pushed for the awareness and betterment of the human condition. They remind us to choose hope rather than succumb to fear. In doing so allows for deep joy to enter our lives because we know how difficult life can be without it. If you are not careful with what you do with your human energy…you can make or break people faster than the speed of light.
As humans, we can connect to this energy and take what is needed based on our life needs. I am a firm believer we are not defined by our current lot in life or what happened to us…it is a part of our story but it does not define who we are at our core. Every human must discover their meaning and purpose in life. You may not had any say with what occurred in your life…but you do get a say with how it made you feel and that will ultimately lead you on a journey to decisive healing and how your story will end. You get to take your power back from the person or experience that took it from you. I realize my words here are coded with privilege; I won’t deny that reality.
Although the context is entirely different depending on the lens of identity examined, I am familiar with the feeling of not being enough which rattled me to my core growing up. It is with this reckoning that I have to believe everyone can connect to finding their purpose and meaning in life. We are enough and talented beyond measure no matter our past or current state of affairs. The ability to dream of the life you desire takes an immense amount of mental energy, not to mention the finesse it takes to achieve it. To think about the future requires a holistic bodily healing to ensure trauma does not follow you on a subconscious level. I refuse to live in a world where hope is shattered like broken glass. Life is a kaleidoscope of experiences where chaos and healing are in constant flux in our lives. Somewhere in our constant falling apart and coming back together again is our innate humanity that possesses a unique ability to connect with others, which is the key to living a prosperous and meaningful life. We must not forget what it means to be human in the modern age.
My calling in this life is to be the giver of energy, hope, and clarity to anyone who feels stuck or unsure of the direction their life is headed. I am not here to judge people on their words or actions; I have my own self-judgements that creep into my life I have to be mindful of. I am here to provide a space for people to grow into self-awareness and allow their instinctive wisdom to chart a path of individual well-being and purpose…with their unique iteration of humanity not only intact but centered at the core of the work I do. If you interact with me long enough…I will brainwash you into thinking you can achieve the wildest of dreams you have of your life. Life is waiting for us to connect with each other and create a future where abundance is the new normal where there’s enough love, joy, and contentment to anyone who wants it. With much love and light!
